Elizabeth Debicki is an Australian Actress. She was born on 24 August 1990 in Paris, France. She made her film debut with a brief appearance in Australian comedy A Few Best Men (2011), having studied drama at the Victorian College of the Arts. For her appearance in The Great Gatsby (2013), she received the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
In 2014 she was nominated for the Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Play for starring in the production of The Maids by the Sydney Theater Company.
Debicki ‘s career has advanced with appearances in the films Everest (2015), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Widows (2018), and Tenet (2020) and the TV series The Night Manager (2016) and The Kettering Incident (2016). For the last time, she won the AACTA Award for Best Actress in Television Drama. She was awarded the Trophée Chopard at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

Elizabeth Debicki was born in Paris on 24 August 1990 to a Polish father and an Australian mother of Irish descent. Her parents were both ballet dancers who met in a show together. When she was five, the family moved to Glen Waverley, Melbourne, Australia. The eldest of three children, she’s got a younger sister and a brother.
Debicki became interested in ballet at an early age and trained as a dancer until he decided to switch to the theater. A student at Huntingtower School in East Melbourne, she achieved two perfect scores in Drama and English and was the school’s dux when she graduated in 2007. She completed her degree in drama at the University of Melbourne’s Victorian College of Arts in 2010. In August 2009, she was the recipient of the Richard Pratt Bursary for outstanding acting students in her second year of training.
Debicki made her debut feature film in Australian movie A Few Best Men 2011, with a brief appearance as a secretary. It was her first role after graduating from drama school. After seeing her audition reel, director Baz Luhrmann, who was casting The Great Gatsby for his upcoming film adaptation, flew her to Los Angeles for auditions, where she was screened with actor Tobey Maguire.
In May 2011, in his 2013 movie The Great Gatsby, Luhrmann announced that she has been cast as Jordan Baker. She would go on to receive rave reviews for her character portrayal, winning an AACTA Best Actress Award in a Supporting Role. Debicki had been the subject of a photoshoot for Vogue Australia in December 2012.
Debicki performed Madame in the production of Jean Genet’s play The Maids by the Sydney Theatre Company from June to July 2013, with Cate Blanchett starring as Claire and Isabelle Huppert as Solange. She won the best newcomer award for her performance in the Sydney Theatre Awards. The play passed off-Broadway at the New York City Center in 2014. Around the same time, Debicki also played in a 13-minute short film called “Gödel Incomplete” and made a guest star appearance in the third season of the Australian TV series Rake.
Debicki’s played a leading role in The Burnt Orange Heresy, a 2019 thriller in which she appeared alongside Claes Bang and Mick Jagger. She appeared in Christopher Nolan’s spy movie Tenet (2020) this year. She played Kat, Kenneth Branagh’s character’s estranged wife. The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw thought she had “the most recognizable human emotions here, shouting, crying and even smiling in a way that no one else quite does” but added that her role was similar to that she played in The Night Manager.
In 2016, after the TV series The Night Manager premiered, many viewers of the show assumed that the actress and her co-star Tom Hiddleston were dating. The actress has previously identified Tom as practically fine. She said in an interview with the Telegraph.
